Why a ‘Wilder Britain’?

The term ‘re-wilding is now commonly used and in 2008 it was given the tittle ‘Word of the year’.

What does it mean?

Restore (an area of land) to its natural uncultivated state (used especially with reference to the reintroduction of species of wild animal that have been driven out or exterminated) ~ Oxford Dictionary.

Wilder Britain looks to restore large areas and improve ecosystems. Using the introduction of certain species along with land management the aim is to enrich our countryside back to a natural state. A landscape that feels alive, rich in wildlife and fauna, improves local communities and gives us great wellbeing. Long term we can leave a positive legacy for many generations.
